stage.britishhorseracing.com LAUNCHED BY BHB

19 Jan 2004 Pre-2014 Releases

The British Horseracing Board has launched a new cutting-edge website – stage.britishhorseracing.com – which unifies for the first time all of BHB’s online activity, providing detailed, substantially enhanced information on racegoing, ownership and bloodstock, and the racing industry.

The website contains many unique features, including an online facility for booking tickets for any race meeting in Britain throughout the year. No other sport in the country offers a centralised booking service of this type.

The site is split into three clearly defined sections: Go Racing, Owning & Breeding, and Inside Horseracing. It is designed as a ‘one-stop shop’ for the horseracing needs of racing fans, novice and regular racegoers, the media, owners, breeders, and those who work in racing.

Key features within these sections include:

Go Racing – Booking service for any meeting at any racecourse
Detailed information on all 59 British racecourses
Beginner’s guide for first-time racegoers
Specially commissioned features and interviews, updated regularly

Owning & Breeding – A full guide to becoming a racehorse owner
Trainer and Partnership directories
The latest news on the breeding and bloodstock industry
A full sales calendar for Tattersalls and Doncaster Bloodstock sales

Inside Horseracing – Corporate information on BHB, including a press release archive
A comprehensive overview of the racing industry, with key statistics
Details on careers in racing and sponsorship opportunities
A Media Centre with varied information sheets and profiles

To celebrate the launch of stage.britishhorseracing.com, visitors have the chance to win a share in a racehorse for a year, to be trained by Mick Channon. There is also a competition to win a VIP day for four to the first day of the 2004 Cheltenham Festival, and an exclusive interview with trainer Howard Johnson, in which he talks about the recent big-name purchases made by owner Graham Wylie.

The website was created by the BHB Marketing Department, in conjunction with all 59 racecourses and other industry stakeholders.
Chris John, Marketing Director of the British Horseracing Board, said: “The launch of this comprehensive, unique website is an important step in bringing together all the marketing work that the BHB undertakes. It is a great resource for British Racing and will help us take the sport’s promotion forward. The centralised booking facility combines with a huge range of information about the entire sport, which we hope will appeal to anyone with an interest in horseracing.

“The website is a further progression in meeting the needs of current and potential consumers and reflects horseracing’s ever-increasing profile within the sport and leisure industries.”
